# Burbank Industries

- On September 3, 2026 the Los Angeles Times, citing the community development director, reported more than 1,000 media and entertainment companies and about 66,000 entertainment jobs. That jobs figure is the entertainment slice. It is not the 165,000 all-industry workforce in the earlier city report.
- The FY2023-24 economic development report describes more than 1,000 media and entertainment companies and a workforce of 165,000 jobs in the city economy.
- Burbank does not publish a ranking of taxpayers. Sales and use tax records are confidential under California Revenue and Taxation Code section 7056. Employer counts in this directory are employment statistics. A tax role is labeled published or inference.
- The FY2024-25 Popular Annual Financial Report names four major retail centers: Burbank Town Center, Burbank Empire Center, Magnolia Park, and Downtown Burbank.
- Tourism produced 31.2 million dollars in local tax revenue in 2024. The economic development report ties that contribution to the General Fund through the transient occupancy tax and related visitor spending. The figure is citywide. It is not one hotel bill.

## Commercial base

- [Warner Bros. Discovery](/companies/warner-bros-discovery): Private anchor. Largest employer on the City of Burbank July 2025 principal-employer table, at 8,230 jobs, 5.0 percent of the workforce that table uses as its denominator. Headquarters address published by the Los Angeles Business Journal: 4000 Warner Boulevard. Burbank does not publish the company property-tax, sales-tax, or business-license remittance. The lot is treated here as a primary private anchor because of its size and use, and that sentence is an inference, not a city ranking. The FY2024-25 economic development report describes a separate 30-acre ranch-lot campus at 411 N. Hollywood Way, with completion estimated for late 2025.
- [The Walt Disney Company](/companies/walt-disney-company): Private anchor. Second-largest employer on the July 2025 city table, at 6,284 jobs, 3.8 percent of that table denominator. Headquarters address published by the Los Angeles Business Journal: 500 South Buena Vista Street. The same newspaper counted 10,900 valley-area employees in September 2025, which is a wider geography than the city table. Remittances are not published. The studio and headquarters campus is the other primary private anchor in the media district, labeled as an inference. ABC Inc. appeared as its own line on older city tables, including 1,160 employees in the June 30, 2021 ACFR, and is not a separate line on the July 2025 table.
- [IKEA Burbank](/companies/ikea-burbank): Retail sales. A city development agreement places the replacement store at 805 South San Fernando Boulevard. The city recorded a 2017 opening and described the building as 456,000 square feet, then the largest IKEA in the United States. A store of that scale is a sales-tax anchor for Bradley-Burns revenue. The remittance is confidential and is not printed here.
- [Burbank Empire Center](/companies/empire-center): Retail sales. Retail center at West Empire Avenue and North Victory Place. The city named it in the adopted development file for the former Lockheed site and again, with Town Center, Magnolia Park, and Downtown, in the FY2024-25 popular annual report. Sales tax is remitted by the tenants. Property tax follows the parcels. This record is the center, not a single taxpayer.
- [Burbank Town Center](/companies/burbank-town-center): Retail sales. Indoor mall at 201 East Magnolia Boulevard. Wikipedia, used here only for the address and ownership statement, identifies Onni Group as owner and manager. The city lists the center as a major retail location. Tenant sales tax and owner property tax are not published as a ranking.
- [Walmart](/companies/walmart-burbank): Retail sales. Tenth employer on the July 2025 city table, at 540 jobs, 0.3 percent. The ACFR does not print the store street address, so this record does not invent one. Walmart is a point-of-sale retailer, which is the mechanism for local sales tax. The dollar remittance is confidential.
- [Magnolia Park](/companies/magnolia-park): Retail sales. Retail district named by the city alongside Empire Center, Town Center, and Downtown. There is no single owner and no single remittance. The district is here because the city points to it as a concentration of taxable sales.
- [Downtown Burbank](/companies/downtown-burbank): Retail sales. Retail and restaurant district named by the city as one of four major shopping areas. Sales tax is the sum of many small remitters. No individual restaurant bill is public.
- [Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport](/companies/marriott-burbank-airport): Lodging tax. Hotel and convention center at 2500 North Hollywood Way, across from the airport, as listed by Ask Burbank. Room revenue inside the city is the base for transient occupancy tax. The city publishes a citywide tourism tax total, not this hotel share of it.
- [Residence Inn Burbank Downtown](/companies/residence-inn-burbank): Lodging tax. Extended-stay hotel at 321 Ikea Way, as listed by Ask Burbank. A transient occupancy tax participant. Share of the 31.2 million dollar 2024 tourism figure is not published.
- [Best Western Plus Media Center](/companies/best-western-media-center): Lodging tax. Hotel at 3910 West Riverside Drive in the media district, as listed by Ask Burbank. Included as part of the lodging tax surface, not as a claimed top remitter.
- [Nickelodeon Animation Studio](/companies/nickelodeon-animation): Private anchor. Eighth employer on the July 2025 city table, at 634 jobs, 0.4 percent. The animation studio occupies 231 West Olive Avenue. That street address is the studio published address and is not printed in the ACFR employer table. Paramount owns Nickelodeon. The city popular report names Nickelodeon among the media companies with a strong presence. Remittance is not published.
- [Netflix](/companies/netflix): Production services. Not on the July 2025 principal-employer top ten. The 2024-2028 strategic plan counted about 850 Burbank employees, and the Chamber page prints the same figure without an as-of date. CoStar News reported in 2019 that Netflix leased animation space at 2300 West Empire Avenue, plus space at 2350 and 2400 Empire Avenue formerly associated with Deluxe. Treat the street address as 2019 reporting, not a 2026 confirmation. Tax remittance is not published.
- [Entertainment Partners](/companies/entertainment-partners): Production services. Ninth employer on the July 2025 city table, at 579 jobs, 0.4 percent. Headquarters published by the company: 2950 North Hollywood Way, shared with Central Casting. Payroll and production-accounting firms support the studio tax base. Their own remittance is not published.
- [Cast & Crew](/companies/cast-and-crew): Production services. Seventh employer on the July 2025 city table, at 655 jobs, 0.4 percent. The ACFR does not print a street address, so this record does not invent one. The strategic plan described Cast & Crew as part of the entertainment supply chain, with an older count of about 800. A production-payroll employer, not a published taxpayer rank.
- [Deluxe](/companies/deluxe): Production services. Not on the July 2025 top ten. Older city tables list Deluxe Shared Services: 700 employees in the strategic plan, 611 on the Chamber page, 971 in the housing-element reprint. No street address from those city tables is stored here. Included as a production-services employer the city itself has named, with the counts dated by their source.
- [The Burbank Studios](/companies/the-burbank-studios): Studio campus. Studio campus at 3000 West Alameda Avenue. The city capital-improvement facts name the campus as part of the media cluster. Stages are often leased, so the property-tax payer is the parcel owner and the business-license payers may be the tenants. This record does not assert a current owner or a dollar amount. The street address is the campus long-published address and is not an ACFR field.

## Not the tax ranking

- [Hollywood Burbank Airport](/companies/hollywood-burbank-airport): Activity generator. Third employer on the July 2025 city table, at 3,106 jobs, 1.9 percent. The terminal address used by the city economic development report is 2627 North Hollywood Way. The airport is a joint-powers authority, not a private remitter of hotel or rental-car tax. It is an activity generator: passengers support nearby transient occupancy tax and taxable airport sales. Those taxes are remitted by the hotels, rental companies, and concessionaires.
- [Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center](/companies/providence-saint-joseph): Public or exempt. Fourth employer on the July 2025 city table, at 2,542 jobs, 1.5 percent. A nonprofit hospital. Much of a nonprofit hospital campus is outside the secured property-tax roll, so employment rank is the wrong proxy for tax rank. The Los Angeles Business Journal printed a Providence address at 181 South Buena Vista Street. The hospital campus is also published at 501 South Buena Vista Street. Both are stored. Neither is a published tax bill.
- [City of Burbank](/companies/city-of-burbank): Public or exempt. Sixth employer on the FY2024-25 ACFR principal-employer table, at 1,564 jobs, 0.9 percent. The July 2025 community risk assessment prints 1,536 for the city. Both city figures are stored. City Hall is at 275 East Olive Avenue. A municipality is not a net taxpayer of its own property tax. It is the government that levies the taxes in this directory.
- [Burbank Water and Power](/companies/burbank-water-and-power): Public or exempt. Municipal utility and a city enterprise. Utility users tax is a General Fund tax on utility charges and is collected on BWP bills from customers across the city. BWP is the collection mechanism, not an outside firm that supplies that revenue from its own profit. No street address is stored because this record is about the tax mechanism.
- [Burbank Unified School District](/companies/burbank-unified): Public or exempt. Fifth employer on the July 2025 city table, at 2,300 jobs, 1.4 percent. District office at 1900 West Olive Avenue. Public-school property is generally exempt. The district is a principal employer and is not a top taxpayer.
- [Woodbury University](/companies/woodbury-university): Public or exempt. Named in the city housing-element narrative as an employer that draws talent. Not on the July 2025 principal-employer top ten, and no employee count from that table is available, so none is invented. Campus at 7500 North Glenoaks Boulevard. A nonprofit university campus is a weak property-tax proxy. Included because it is a major Burbank campus, with that limit stated.
